My name is Brian Maina Ngugi, and welcome to my page!

This portfolio is more than just a gallery of assignments; it’s a curated look at how I use diagnostic rigor and creative storytelling to create value for diverse stakeholders.

My work is driven by a simple belief: even the most complex technical solutions need a compelling human story to succeed.

  • My journey started in a medical ward, but it’s currently thriving in the global procurement and comms hub of Red Hat.

    You might ask how a background in Medicine and Surgery leads to a First-Class Honours career in Marketing. The answer is Diagnosis. Whether I'm examining a patient or "diagnosing" a $50M+ spend portfolio, I apply the same analytical discipline to find the root cause and prescribe the most effective solution.

    Why I’m different:

    • The Multi-Hyphenate Intern: At Red Hat, I lead a "double life." By day, I’m an operator managing high-value contracts and preferred supplier lists. By afternoon, I’m a communicator with global editor rights, writing the copy and designing the visuals that keep our global procurement team aligned.

    • Designer’s Eye, Analyst’s Mind: My background in graphic design isn't just about "making things look pretty." It’s about technical-to-business translation, taking abstract data and turning it into a visual narrative that senior leadership can act on.

    • A Global Perspective: Having lived in five different countries, I don’t just understand "target audiences". I understand people. This cultural agility allows me to navigate multinational corporate environments with ease.

    I’m currently wrapping up my final year at MTU Cork and am committed to continue evolving within the world's most innovative companies.


B2B LinkedIn Marketing

As a Sales & Marketing intern at Lynx Africa, I created content and wrote copy on LinkedIn to drive high-value client acquisition.

B2C Instagram & TikTok

Led a Digital Marketing team of 10, forming the link between students, faculty and university services at MTU Cork.

Managed end-to-end production, including graphic design, copywriting, and video editing across Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, leading to 150% increase in online engagement.

Brand Creation & Management

The projects below showcase my expertise in end-to-end brand management - this includes visual identity creation, online and traditional advertising, as well as event management

Developed a holistic yoghurt brand for a university project, in line with current wellness consumer trends.

Created the logo, packaging, online and OOH ads and wrote copy.

Awarded best project of the entire Marketing cohort.

Established and developed own tea brand from concept to market readiness.

Led all aspects of brand creation, including market research, target audience definition, brand identity design (logo, packaging, storytelling), and go-to-market strategy development for the upcoming launch in late 2026.
